The Attic Gallery began in Diana Faville's attic of her home in l973.   At that time in Portland there were only three other galleries.    Some of the artists that showed their work in the original attic were Elizabeth Brewster Rocchia, Le Roy Setziol, Monica Setziol (now Phillips),  Amanda Snyder, Christine Tarpey, Liza Jones, Joe Police, Joe Floren, David Autier, Teddy Richardson,  and Susan Joy Ogilvy.  In 1984, the Attic Gallery opened its downtown gallery located at 206 SW First Avenue between SW Oak St. and SW Pine St. one block west of the waterfront.  The gallery is on the Max line (take the Oak St. exit and walk North).  The gallery's goal is to exhibit unique works by gallery artists, showcasing their works to collectors with changing monthly exhibits and broadening the artists' exposure via the internet.

The gallery is open Monday through Saturday, 10 to 5:30 pm.
